Oatman Massacre Site Near Gila Bend, Arizona

The Oatman family was massacred on Feb 18, 1851.  There were 3 children that survived the massacre, 2 girls and a boy- Olive aged 13, Mary Louise aged 8 and Lorenzo.  Lorenzo was actually left for dead but was eventually rescued.  Mary Louise died while captivity.  Olive was eventually traded to Fort Yuma by the Apaches.  Olive eventually married a wealthy plantation owner and lived to be 65.
